Black is used for banishing, negating negativity and binding. It can be used in meditation to deepen the meditative state. Black, despite its connotations with the popular perception dark magic, does not denote evil in any sense. It can however be utilised in death rituals to assist a person's passing to the next world.

White can be substituted for any other colour. It is used for purification, moon magic, protection and peace. White is used in consecration rituals. It is also imbued with healing properties, a white candle may be lit to assist healing and recovery from illness.

Blue is associated with the element of water and may be used to invoke this element in magical workings. Blue is the colour of calm and tranquility and can be used in meditation and spell work to promote a tranquil state of mind. Blue is also associated with both healing and the acquisition of knowledge.

Green is the colour of abundance and is the primary colour used in work involving prosperity or material wealth. Green is associated with success in the workplace and has connotations of good luck.
