QUESTION - I heard the expression There is a little Witch in all of us. That has stuck with me. I am on a new path in my waning part of life. From the waxing to the full I have always been intrigued by the Craft. I have had dreams that have come to pass, experienced different things that I could not explain. Was told to stay away from any involvement with the Craft. So growing up with this being preached to me left me scared of what I was seeking answers too. Now I am in a place where I feel I am ready to go with this to find who I am. my Q is: Will I find it and will I be receptive to it and continue with this new path?
Answer - I'd be interested to hear what motives people have for telling you to stay away from the Craft. Generally fear of witchcraft is borne from ignorance and a lack of understanding. There is also the assumption that if something does not fit with a conventional path of faith it must be bad or evil. Sadly there are also very cynical reasons for not encouraging a person to self actualise, people are easier to manipulate if they are taught only to think within an accepted framework. It can be threatening to established ways of thinking when an individual wants to break away and follow their own beliefs rather than the doctrine they have been taught. But I would ask, which is the true behaviour of those who loves you - do they want to see you find yourself, to seek out your own answers and your own happiness or would they prefer you to follow teachings that do not call to you and walk your way through the world in the dark? I can't answer this for you but I think you can probably guess my thoughts...
So here you are, on the brink of a voyage of self discovery. You've done the hard work already, you've lifted your head above the parapet and you've dared to question that they might be more to life than you have always been taught. You've answered your own question, you say you are ready to go ahead and to find out who you are and you have already proven yourself to be capable of breaking away from the shackles of conventionality to do so. What you are asking me in truth is not whether you will be receptive to your new path but whether you will have the strength to continue with it. And yes, I think so. Like I say, the hard bit is the realisation that there is more to life than you have ever been taught. Once you've had a taste of what lies beyond you'll want it enough to find the strength to grab it with both hands. And if its right for you, you'll find it in yourself to keep on going.
