I have a simple question about candles.
If a candle is to burn for 33hrs, for the spell/chant to work, is it ok if I snuff it out before going to bed, and re light it in the morning? I am terrified of leaving an unsupervised candle burning all night, just the thought sends me in a panic!
I don't care if the spell will take longer to work, because I would not be able to focus and be positive knowing I HAVE to leave it burning all night. Some advice please.
ANSWER - The key element to performing any spell, including those involving candle magic is your intent. Certainly a spell where you can focus your intent for the duration of a candle burning down is likely to be a powerful one. However, the significance of the candle burning is primarily the time you spend focusing on your spell. I therefore see little issue in you breaking the burning of the candle and relighting it with a fresh session of focusing on your spell.
Its also important to remember that barriers to your focus need to be eliminated if you are to concentrate on your spell. Worrying that your room will burn down if your candle stays alight all night will have a negative effect on your concentration and will weaken the potency of your spell. It makes much more sense under these circumstances to think of a way to remove the worry, in this case, blowing the candle out for the period while you are sleeping.
