QUESTION - I consider myself to be a witch. I feel a connection to every living being/organism. I pride myself in believing in witches and witchcraft and believe there is magic all around us. I don’t, however, consider myself to be very knowledgeable on everything. I have questions and am always looking for an opinion on them. I’ve had, over the years, one particular dream that never seems to go away. It’s of being shot at, and 99% of the time it is being shot by my younger brother by 3 years. He looks me right in the face and shoots me. We’ve always had a argumentative relationship and truth be told I’ve always feared he was capable of doing something harmful out of anger. Now I don’t think he’d shoot someone, but I do notice he has dark tendencies and just a troubled kid. But these dreams, what could they mean? I have no idea when I think of them.
ANSWER - Dreams very rarely mean what we think they do and the meaning of dreams is a psychological issue, not a magical one. You could argue that your subconscious knows something you don't and is trying to warn you, which is a type of magic but that's not really important.
I can't give you an extensive answer as i don't know you but in my experience, a dream like this usually points to our own distrust of those we're close to. Is there someone in your family or your close circle whom you should be able to trust but just don't? Chances are it's not your brother at all, yet he is the dream's personification of that person. It could also be that it is yourself you are having the issues with and your brother is holding the gun to that part of you that "he" feels is damaging you?
With dreams, it's always better to look internally, rather than externally, for the answers.
My advice would be to get yourself into a meditation routine and meditate on the issue. Tarot cards are a good way to do this and art therapy is another.
QUESTION - I'm interested in Witchcraft but I'm not in the best environment to actually begin. I'm also in no way prepared to become a full on witch. What should I do and how should I do it? Also other witches said to first find what type of witch you are but how do I tell?
ANSWER - Firstly, I feel it is important to stress that there is no environment that isn't conducive to Witchcraft. If you're a witch and that's what you'd like to identify as, then that's what you are.
When you go on your path, remember that it is your path and anyone telling you that you should do this or do that is completely missing the point and is, frankly, talking out of their backside!
The only thing you need to do to become a witch, is decide that you are. It's really that simple. You don't need to have a magic wand, wear robes or go running naked around the woods.
If you look on this site, there are links to many websites and books where you can read to your heart's content about many, many Pagan paths. The more you read, the more you'll learn and the more you learn, the more confident you'll feel to make the decisions that will tell you who you are.
Anyone telling you that you have to figure out the kind of witch you are FIRST, is completely missing the point... The point is the journey of self discovery! If you skip that, what's the point in any of it?
QUESTION - I'm 18 years old and my entire life I have been able to see spirits, be it shadow or physical. I never truly paid any mind to this little tidbit. It wasn't until I was 16 that my mother dropped the bomb that not just me, but her and my brother have a beacon of light that attracts spirits, my brother and I are just brighter than normal. Due to my brothers age, she guesses that with time his light will lessen whilst mine has grown. I can see and talk to spirits if I wish (not that I want to, most of the time I just mainly yell at them to stop scaring my cats). It wasn't until maybe last year or early this year that I began practicing Wiccan teachings, mind you I feel like I understand some part of myself better. BUT just right now, this night, my mother drops ANOTHER bomb. I had asked her to ask her cousin, who is a true witch and has been helping my mom out, to read my photo and see if anything was wrong with me and just a few hours ago she tells my mother that I am a witch. Like whoa I just began practicing this, what do you mean I'm a witch? Did she mean by bloodline or that she somehow figured out what I was practicing? Not just that, but do you have any clue on whats going on with me? Why can I see spirits? I don't want to live some Mexican version of Ghost Whisperer!
ANSWER - It is perfectly natural to be able to see spirits. It is particularly common at a young age before preconceptions of the world are formed. Some individuals are more in tune with spirits than others. I know witches who incorporate working with spirits into their craft and others who wouldn’t recognise a spirit if it did a jig on their head. Witchcraft and an ability to perceive the departed are too often seen as being dependent on one another when in fact the following of a craft path can be entirely free of spirit work and any individual can have an encounter with the departed without needing to be a practising witch.
I like your rather pragmatic approach to the spirits you see. Certainly it does not have to be anything dark or frightening. They just are in the same sense that anything else just is (and you are right to stop them scaring your cats, lol). I would continue to view your ability with this very common sense approach. There is nothing wrong with you, nothing abnormal or worrying. You may find this gift brings an element of inconvenience at times but there is no reason why it should have any negative impact on your life.
In terms of your cousin telling your mother you are a witch, I think you need to open up a bit more dialogue on this. Give her a ring and ask her what she meant! I’m not a big believer in the idea that a person is born a witch, though I do acknowledge there are some hereditary craft traits, so I think it more likely she is being sensitive to the changes in you since you started practising. Working with magic does change us and it is certainly possible another witch has picked up on this. But like I say give her a ring. Direct communication is often the straightest path to clarity.
QUESTION - Okay so recently I've been struggling to figure something out. While talking with a friend, I heard someone say, "The Judgment." It wasn't her, she didnt hear it. Ever since then, I've been seeing shadow people occasionally and hearing what sounds like hundreds of voices singing. I also saw a person standing on the bus right by the doors, which no one would be doing since we were moving. My friend thinks I'm Clairvoyant and Clairaudient, and another one thinks a god/goddess is calling to me. As a studying witch, I still dont know what it is so can someone offer a possible answer?
ANSWER - I have no doubt at all that things go on in the natural world which are not perceived by all of us all the time. My only surprise is that people find this to be in any way out of the ordinary. Most people possess, to some extent or another, a ‘sixth sense’ or an ability to see, sense, hear or feel elements not present in the physical world. So if we take your question at face value and assume you did not overhear a passer by saying “The Judgement” and that there was no actual person standing on the bus then yes it is possible and actually quite likely that you have some degree of clairaudinance.
However I would strongly caution against reading too much into this ability. It is a good gift to have and one that will definitely be of value in your chosen path as a witch. But take care to see it as another tool in your armoury rather than a gift marking you out for special treatment by the Gods. One of the biggest struggles any witch has to contend with is the problem of ego and there is a danger that if you put too much emphasis on these abilities you will overlook your more mundane abilities which will have just as much importance in your craft.
And of course don’t be too quick to jump to conclusions. Always exhaust practical explanations before looking for more complex answers. It is important to be firmly grounded in a common sense view on the world when embarking on the path of a witch.
QUESTION - I prayed a banishing prayer in my home because a friend had betrayed me and would not meet to "clear the air". I was unsure of their intentions and wanted my home and family safe. We have since met and are committed to build our friendship back. Is there a way to allow them back in my home? It has been 8 months since I said the prayer.
ANSWER A banishing spell does not erect a physical barrier that will prevent someone from entering your house. Cast correctly it certainly may deter an individual from coming to your house but it will not actually prevent them from entering if you invite them. I think you are taking the idea of banishing too literally – magic does not work in quite such a linear manner as your question suggests. Magic works in a much more roundabout way, so casting a spell to prevent someone coming to your home will have an impact on circumstances bringing them to your home but it will not erect a magical force field that will stop them from doing so.
The key thing with this as with all magic is the actualisation of your intent and will. If your intention has changed since you completed this spell work then in my view the change of intent alone would undo the spell. To be certain however it may be an idea to salt your doorways with the purpose of cleansing away any workings still in place. But the key thing is to be clear with your intent. Openly and warmly invite your friend back into your home and I am confident there will be no negative repercussions for either of you.
QUESTION - I know this may sound odd but the other day I asked a special tree to gift me a branch so I could utilize its energy.
Two days later there it was... Today ( 2-3 days later) two bones were placed outside my home., One of the bones is a vertebrae placed on the rail and the other a longer bone.
A week previously there was a jaw piece on the other rail.
Do you think the universe gifts us these things ??? I know it may sound odd but it truly does not seem like a coincidence.
ANSWER - There's an old saying that the "universe provides" and I'm not entirely sure of the origins of this but it seems clear that opportunities often present themselves in quite obvious ways and we just don't notice them until we feel the need to look.
Whether that is job opportunities, tools to work with or relationships - these opportunities are always there, we just tend to notice more when it's relevant to us, which is why I feel it is important to always keep your eyes, ears, mind and heart open; so that you can always be available for the opportunities that come knocking.
QUESTION - I have been struggling with two paths in the last few months. I am a Christian who believes that Jesus Christ is my Lord and savior. But I have been feeling a strong pull towards witchcraft. Witchcraft runs in my family. They just don't recognize it as that. My grandmother and her mom and my grandmothers cousin and her mom and so forth practiced things that they didn't see as witchcraft because they did it in the name of Jesus Christ. I know that it's possible to be a Christan witch as long as I practice craft that doesn't interfere with the rules of Christianity. I guess my question is how do I know if I'm a natural witch? I'm so drawn to witchcraft and crystals and nature. I'm a very intuitive person and at first I though that I was an empath because of how I can read people and sense their energy. I can even see auras sometimes. I'm trying to figure out what I am. Could I be a witch? or am I just a empath? Sometimes I can feel energy In my hands. More on my left then on my right. I don't know what that's about. I'm a very open minded Person who loves knowledge and believes that there is always more than meets the eye. So with that all being said what are your thoughts about these two paths and my gifts?
ANSWER - First of all, I'd just like to point out that I think your open mind does you and your family credit. The fact that you're not only willing, but seem to be happy, to accept that more than one path is open to you is something that many people will never consider and they cut themselves off from so many opportunities because of it.
There are many types of witch but I feel that the type you're envisaging is the typical Celtic variety - In which case, did you know that in the Highlands, in Wales and other Celtic places, most of what people now call Witchcraft was just seen as a woman's heritage? A woman who had what we would now call supernatural gifts, was considered to be a descendant of the Auld Ones, the Ancients, the Ancestors, and was respected for her skills. she saw over deaths, births, marriages, courtships, sicknesses and crop blessings! For at least a thousand years of this, these women were Christians!
Whether you believe in the One, Almighty God or you believe in a pantheon of Supreme Beings, these gifts are just that; gifts and your label doesn't alter that in any way. You just do you! You do what feels natural and let your guides be the soft feelings in the deep of night, the brush of the wind as it caresses your skin.
If you feel the call of nature, if you hear the songs of the trees and the rivers... Nature is in your soul... And calling yourself a Witch, a Christian or a Flying Fish... The label isn't what matters, what's in your heart and soul is key.
I wish you well on your journey and hope that you find a purpose for your gifts, no matter who you choose to thank for them.

QUESTION - Is it possible for a boy to become a nature witch? Is there anyone who can teach in dreams? Do writing spells, symbols and text on paper help in future and learning?
ANSWER - I'm not entirely sure of everything you're asking but I am sure that witches can be male or female, there is no gender. Wizards and Warlocks are an invention of Hollywood and fairy tales, not nature so, if you're a male witch then that's what you are! :)
As to spells etc, spells need only one thing, not candles, not texts, not rhymes and incense and magical fairy dust; they need intent. So, whether you're a boy, a girl or a donkey, intent is all you need.
I'd be wary of anyone offering to "teach" you anything, especially at a cost. Here on this website there are lists of resources that you can access that enable you to read and think for yourself. This is the only true way to learn, especially if you're Pagan. It's your path and you determine it and where it goes... So, my advice to you would be to read as much as you can but with an open mind, don't let the author sway you, go with what feels right and see where it takes you.
