QUESTION: About a month or so ago I had a very scarily vivid dream that my sister was hurting or in pain in some way and the next morning. The dream had made me worry so much I texted my sister to see if she was okay. I found out that she had been self-harming. I was wondering if this could be related to something witchy or just a coincidence. If you need more information, please let me know.
ANSWER: Coincidence is always possible, but dreams are very powerful things and I would say that this one carried a message that was directed at you from a soul in need of help that can’t be heard over the roar of mental health problems. Our brains are far more capable than many would have us believe and we can pick up on energies that are being fired our way, especially when they come from someone we are deeply connected to.
I hope this helps.
Do you know any magic to help me get rid of my abusive partner without him causing harm to me and my children?
QUESTION: I am new at all this. I was told I have it in me. But mainly I want to change my life. I know the life I have can be altered it’s not something I just have to accept. Which is what has led me to witchcraft. I am in an abusive relationship and have been for 14 years. Mostly this effects my kids. I would like to do a spell that makes him not attracted to me. One where he wants our relationship to be no more, but calmly and nicely lets us go. Can you please help... I don’t have the freedom to just learn because he watches my every move at home, so the only time I have to even read is during slow times at work. I like the idea of the jar magic, but I’m not really sure of what I need to put into the jar. I want him banished from my life forever.
ANSWER: Thank you for your question, I have given your situation much thought and consideration given its delicate and personal nature. I hope this helps even a little towards you getting away safely. Before we get into any spell work or magic that you can use in your situation, depending on what is in front of me, I sometimes like to explore practical solutions before heading into magical ones let’s take a minute to talk about practicalities.
You don’t say where you are in your question but there are a few places you can contact for help. For the UK try https://www.refuge.org.uk/ or https://www.womensaid.org.uk/ and for the USA try https://www.thehotline.org/ . All of them have many practical resources and help available if you need to escape, they also have checklists that can help you to plan an escape for you and your children. Hopefully you can access them while at work and find some help and support for you all. Other options include talking to your doctor or nurse, they can usually provide support of some kind or help you make a report to the police too. Of course, if at all possible, you should consider calling the police for help as abuse of this nature is a crime.
There are two steps to the magic you need to take, I believe this is doable at work for you. The first is to disarm the man and make him less of a threat to you while he is still in your home. The second is to get rid of him entirely.
We will start with a simple binding spell. Get some of this man's hair (try scraping under his razor blade) and then mould a simple plasticine (or wax/clay) figurine of him. Nothing elaborate, keep it a simple person shape. Personalise it by carving his name (the name he is known by if it is different to his birth name) onto the centre of the figure (poppet) and pressing the hair into the poppet. Next, find a piece of string and physically bind him. (For a malicious working I like to tie the string very tight, so it warps the shape of the poppet and squeezes him out of the recognisable shape of a human being.) While you are doing this, visualise him squirming against his bounds, unable to escape and powerless against the confines you are placing on him. State your intention clearly - "I bind you, so you are powerless to cause further harm to me and my children." Then seal him in a jar filled with salt (I rather enjoy pinning said victim to a cork board with long needles but the jar will work better for the next stage and you’re already drawn to a jar spell so it makes sense).
Now you have your bound poppet in a jar, the next stage is to start to make this man disappear from your life. Once a week, open the jar and with a pair of scissors carefully snip a small amount from the poppet (say 10%, the idea being that when you have done this ten times he will be gone). Don't worry you will not physically harm him by doing this, I know the films show poppets as literal representations but the magic we are doing here is very different. Burn the piece you remove from him somewhere suitable. Complete this weekly, snipping the same amount off until the poppet has all been destroyed and burned and the man has gone from your lives.
All magic works best when its paired with sensible, direct and practical steps taken in the physical world so I urge you to consider the pointers I gave above and make it happen – I have every faith that you can.
QUESTION: For many years now, I have been having strange dreams. The most frequent of them, that seems to recur the most is always the same or a little different.
It always starts out as a forest, bathed in the rays of a full moon shining from the top of the trees. A dire wolf with eyes that rival that of molten mercury, fur that's darker than the blackest night with two raven feathers sitting below its left ear. It beckons me, to come further into the forest where it switches to the wolf dancing in a circle of its pack, paws beating the ground as it moves gracefully over the dusty earth.
Where other nights it switches once more, but this time I am the wolf running through the night, chasing caribou across the forest floor into open plains. The thundering of hoof beats, and paws sounding out as I turn to see the others following me booming out a thunder felt howl.
The same dream switches once more as I am now that of a raven soaring through the skies, looking down at the dire wolf running across the plains after the caribou below.
This is where the dreams ends, but there have been other instances where I noticed something was a little off. I have seen the same wolf outside of my dreams, although it was nothing more than a shadow. Then a raven came to me another day where I fed it.
The weirdest thing to ever happen was I saw deer heads and it was almost as if I was there, the one chasing them down, hunting them. but instead of two feet and legs it was paws. where other days my eyes would change colour.
I have already looked everywhere online as to what this could mean but have found nothing like my case, any help would be appreciated.
ANSWER: Your dreams sound incredibly powerful and definitely have meaning to you, your life and who you are as a person.
I wonder if you have ever explored Heathenry as a spiritual path? The raven and the wolf are closely linked to Odin, The All Father, and as your dreams involve hunting and the freedom of nature in full flight it seems to suggest that you are dreaming about your own freedom to follow the path that is calling out to you.

QUESTION: I use a mooncup and I've often felt a desire to collect my menstrual blood and perform some kind of ritual. What do you recommend for calling in a beloved? That's what I feel drawn to right now.
ANSWER: There are lots of different rituals you can perform using menstrual blood. It is a powerful ingredient in any magical working due to its connection to you and your lifeforce and can be used for several things.
The process of collecting the blood can be a ritual is its own right if you spend time with your energy and honouring it during the days of your menstruation. Take time to be with yourself as you are, however that is. No judgement, no denial – simply sit with yourself and innate natural power.
You can collect it and store it in the fridge in a sealed bottle or jar to use as ink for your book of shadows or journal. It will dry if spread thinly and then can be scraped up and stored as blood flakes in your kit for later use in spellwork and rituals.
During spellwork and ritual you can use blood for several things including to dress candles, draw sigils, write or draw in your book of shadows or even to create a temporary blood tattoo. It can even be used for divination.
Using it to call a beloved to oneself is a valid use of menstrual blood too, though some would consider it on the darker side of morality as it can mean that you’re effectively trying to have an impact on another’s free will without their permission. I personally would not perform a ritual of this nature unless it was for myself, but I also understand that it can be done with fully informed permission from the other person involved too.
Before I give my suggestions, I would advise on the side of caution when working with blood. There are some basic rules to keeping it safe and as mess free as possible.
For a fully consensual ritual to work together:
Feed your beloved a drop or a flake of your menstrual blood. This is a magical deepening of your connection together and a powerful consensual binding together of lifeforces. Done within an intimate space with intent, love and passion this can be an amazing experience for two people with a deeply magical connection.
For calling a beloved to you:
Use your blood to write a spell that calls them to you using words that they will respond to then say it out loud while imagining them arriving as many times as you feel are needed. This is best done later in the evening when the world is quieter so they can hear your call. Destroy the paper in an appropriate way once your goal is accomplished.
QUESTION: I know you probably get lots of questions, but I think this might be kind of long so I’m sorry. I saw a video from a witch on TikTok where you could psychically “check in” or connect on someone you have a connection with.
I tried this and I think I made a connection with one of my friends I’ve been arguing with lately. I could see him sitting on his couch playing on his phone, I could even see the exact pair of basketball shorts he was wearing. After looking at him for a few seconds I felt something shift and it was images of my face flickering in my mind from the perspective of someone looking at me, and I felt warm and calm suddenly. Is there any interpretation for this?
ANSWER: Your description of the experience suggests that you did indeed connect with your friend. It is a similar technique for those who send distance healing or do magical work for others.
I would offer a warning for this technique as there are ethical concerns attached to it that are worthy of thought and reflection. I’m sure it would never be your intention to cause any harm to your friend and I'm not suggesting that you have done any wrong here as I'm sure you've given it due thought, but just in case - simply popping in on them in this way can be seen to be an invasion of privacy as much as it could be an act of friendship. If your friend realises that you did this, and especially after an argument when some people need space and time away it might have had a detrimental effect on your relationship.
QUESTION: I am very interested in witchcraft and becoming a witch. But I am still a minor and am wondering how to talk to my parents about it. I know that they won't freak out (as they aren't very religious or anything like that) but I just need advice as what to say.
ANSWER: Firstly, Merry Meet friend! This is a tough situation, but it is especially so for someone young like yourself - and well done to you for knowing yourself enough to explore. Let’s explore some things to think about…….
Some prep work before you sit down to tell them might help it all go a little smoother and especially if your parents are as you say and possibly quite open minded about these things, being prepared for your conversation will help. Think about what it is you believe and want to explore. They will probably have questions around these topics and if you have well thought out answers for them then it will be a big help to your conversation.
Think about when you will tell them too. Its much better to know that you will be undisturbed and can focus on what you have to say than having to rush or getting interrupted half-way through. Tell them you want to talk about something important to you and try to remain calm and reasonable while you tell them and during the conversation after.
Unfortunately, even the most level-headed person can react badly when shocked by news they weren’t expecting, especially when that news is about their child no matter what the child’s age, so be prepared for any kind of initial reaction and to have to leave the conversation for another time when everyone has calmed down. Try not to talk about what your beliefs aren’t, so for example don’t say something about it not being devil worship because then the focus of the conversation will naturally fall more on unhealthy misconceptions rather than the actual path of witchcraft and what that means to you as a person.
I can’t tell you exactly what to say because I don't know you or your parents but I hope this advice at least helps. At some point or another most witches are in your situation and the best place to start is with the people who are most likely to love and support you no matter what. I truly hope all goes well for you.
QUESTION: What is the best way to practice Wicca while living with people who do not accept wicca and won’t allow anything wicca related into the house?
ANSWER: I’m going to presume here that you’re in the situation where you are unable to move from where you are living to somewhere more amenable to your beliefs and that you need to keep your practice a secret. Don’t be disheartened though, there are ways to keep up your practice!
It goes without saying that to maintain your practice without those you live with picking up on it, its important that you respect their beliefs too and its probably best if you don’t tell people they know about your practice either to make sure it stays a secret and doesn’t get back to them somehow.
Some of the tools used in Wicca are quite ordinary objects or are things that you can keep as a collection or have another kind of interest in such as herbs and crystals. You can be interested in herbs for cooking and gardening without any magical connotations and the same goes for crystals and an interest in geology and the science that goes with it.
If you keep one, you can disguise your Book of Shadows as a private journal, or if you are worried even that will be discovered then consider keeping it on a phone or tablet or uploading it to cloud storage. Rather than buying real books, try looking for online places of learning and research as there are thankfully now many available sources on the subject. If you don’t have access to a digital device, or like me you really do just love books, then you can always visit book shops and libraries instead.
Setting up an altar might be a challenge - but it can be done small and simply. For example, I have a tiny shelf next to my bed that is my smallest altar and all it has on it is a small, white candle. To anyone else it’s just a pretty candle but to me it’s a sacred space where I can do magic, send healing and generally communicate with my inner self or my deities.
I feel that the most important thing to remember though is that none of the above are really that important. You don’t need herbs and crystals, nor do you need an altar or the things that are traditionally included on it to be a practising Wiccan. What you need most of all is you and the things you learn along the way so maybe, at least for now, don’t worry about the physical tools that many describe as needed to be a Wiccan and focus on your own development through the things you can access outside of their sphere of influence.
